Skin Care Routine

What is your skin care routine?

Developing a consistent and optimal skin care routine may seem daunting. ZO Skin Health makes it easy to start a customized skin care protocol no matter your current routine.

Getting skin ready is the foundation and includes three easy steps.

  1. The first step is cleanse. It is important to cleanse your face to clean away dirt, oil, debris, and makeup. The ZO line has a cleanser for everyone. There are three different cleansers to choose from. The first cleanser is the hydrating cleanser which is best for dry and sensitized skin. The second cleanser is the exfoliating cleanser which is best for normal to oily and acne prone skin. The final cleanser is ZO’s gentle cleanser which is for all skin types.
  2. The second step is to exfoliate. Exfoliating is important because it smooths skin, dissolves oil and removes dulling clogging skin cells, and brightens skin. The ZO line offers two different types of exfoliators. One is for all skin types and is the exfoliating polish. The dual action scrub is another exfoliating option for oily and acne-prone skin. Exfoliating is an important step and the frequency depends on your skin type. Someone with acne-prone skin may be able to exfoliate every day, but someone with normal to dry skin may be only able to 2 times a week.
  3. The third step is tone. This allows your skin to be adequately prepared for additional products and balances the pH of your skin. The ZO line has three different types of toners. The toner that is suitable for all skin types is the complexion renewal pads. The option for oily or acne-prone skin is oil control pads. The third and final option is calming toner for dry and sensitized skin.

Prevent and Correct

After completing your getting skin ready routine you would move on to prevent and correct. There are many different options that are able to be tailored to your individual skin health needs. This category includes retinols, growth factor, vitamin C, and antioxidants. The antioxidants are designed to deliver all day environmental protection.

The final step to every morning skin care regime is sunscreen. There are two different types of sunscreens: chemical and physical. Chemical sunscreen absorbs into the skin and then absorbs UV rays, converts the rays into heat, and releases them from the body. The active ingredients in chemical sunscreens include avobenzone, octinoxate and oxybenzone. Physical sunblock sits on top of the skin and reflects the sun’s rays. The minerals titanium dioxide and zinc oxide are the main active ingredients in physical blocks.
