What is a global period?

During this time, all follow-up visits for this condition are included in the initial charge. You may incur additional charges if the doctor evaluates other conditions during this time.
What is the ``The No Surprises Act`` Medical Bill
The No Surprises Act went into effect Jan. 1, 2022, and is a law that aims to help patients understand health care costs in advance and to minimize unforeseen — or surprise — medical bills. It prevents patients covered under group and individual health plans from receiving surprise medical bills when they receive any medical treatment. To learn more, download the Fact Sheet below
What services within the global period are covered?
Follow-up office visits related to the surgery are covered. Also, complications following surgery (related to the surgery) not resulting in a return trip to the operating room, unless otherwise indicated in your insurance policy are covered within the global period.
What services within the global period are NOT covered?
