Gender-Affirming Mastectomy
Initially, when I had my first consultation back in January of 2021 with Dr. Kelamis, he was with his previous practice. He wasn’t my first consultation however the general reviews were great so I decided to give him a shot. I couldn’t locate any pictures of the results from his top surgery procedure (a.k.a. reconstructive double mastectomy) and was cautious and wary when going into the consultation. They also only had two pictures from patients with the same surgery in the office as well. However, when I met him, I knew he was the surgeon for me and my personal body type. He is kind, caring, and open to any questions you may have about him or the procedure itself. He explains the reasoning behind his choices in an understandable manner and I felt like I could trust him.
The day of my surgery went the smoothest I could have ever hoped for. The hospital staff was fantastic and treated me like a king- they kept me calm and treated me more as a person than a patient. Dr. Kelamis came in beforehand to take the measurements and double-checked that the way he was going to operate was okay with me. After I agreed, I was whisked back for the surgery!
Post-op, I was exhausted (understandably so). He had two drains leaving from my stomach instead of under my armpits which made emptying them and carrying them/resting with them easier than I anticipated. I also had waterproof bandages on so I could shower the day after my surgery. I was sent home with papers on how to drain my bulbs, sleep, shower, medicine schedules, and the anticipated side effects of the medicines. There were a few questions that I did have that weren’t on the discharge papers so I emailed the surgeon/the office and asked. The response times were phenomenal!! I had an answer within a day even on Sundays- which surprised me honestly. They began to move to their own office and separate from the previous practice in the middle of my process so my post-op appointments are at their new office. My first one was in-person so he could remove my drains (they felt like a wet noodle) and look over the incisions to make sure everything was healing alright/change the dressings on the incisions. He answered any questions I had and answered a few questions I had for him in regards to those looking for a surgeon. I was also their first telehealth appointment for my 1-month post-op. The call went really well! There were a few seconds where his side lagged but other than that it went really smoothly!
All in all, I’ve had a fantastic experience with Dr. Kelamis and I honestly don’t think I could have chosen a better surgeon.

I will never be able to adequately share how incredibly thankful I am for Dr Kelamis. I struggled with being overweight all my life. After finally being successful with my weight loss, I was left with an extreme amount of loose skin. Dr Kelamis was able to completely transform my stomach and breasts by removing 12 1/2 pounds of excess skin. I feel like a new person! My life will forever be changed, and I’m so incredibly grateful for him and the gifts God blessed him with. I would also like to note, his bedside manner is second to none. He is so incredibly kind and easy to talk to. After speaking with him, all of my anxieties left about showing him my body during the initial consult. I would trust him again in a heartbeat if I needed any additional procedures. Dr. Kelamis is an amazing doctor. He is caring, very professional and wants what is best for you. He is passionate about his job and honestly is very meticulous about his work. His office staff is just as caring as he is. Very professional and they make you feel comfortable. I truly feel like they have become family to me. Any concerns they respond very quickly and will answer any and all questions. Hands down one of the best plastic surgeons around NWA! I lost 240lbs and I had abdominoplasty, mastopexy, implants and lipo and I couldn't be happier with my surgery and the care I received. I had surgery on my genitalia years ago to make my body look more consistent with my gender, and was very nervous about finding a respectful doctor in AR when an unusual cyst-like growth suddenly came about. Dr. Kelamis was not only familiar with the procedure I'd had done, the surgeon who performed it, and transgender health in general; he was also remarkably kind, safe, and humane in how he approached resolving my situation.He acknowledged the limits of what he could do due to the level of risk around my growth, and gave me clear informed consent to decide whether I wanted to attempt removing it or not. He recommended against removing it unless it causes further problems later — a decision that was better for me than for his pocketbook. Noteworthy.He is the most personable surgeon I've met. Easy to talk with, a good listener, and understanding. His work speaks for itself, but these distinguishing attributes are a rare and valuable find that set him apart leagues above most of his surgical peers.

I don’t know that I have ever had such personalized attention and care than what I received at Kelamis Plastic Surgery & Aesthetics. Every member of the staff from receptionist to care consultant to doctor was kind and patient. Dr. Kelamis spent almost an hour with me discussing options, even those that would not benefit him. Dr. Kelamis and this team are as good as it gets! I visited and consulted with 5 doctors prior to meeting Dr. Kelamis and I did not feel good about any of them. As soon as I walked into his office I was greeted with a warm welcome and the experience began. Each step of the way I felt heard and understood. I received my surgery at the Surgical Arts Center in Fayetteville. That experience was also incredibly amazing! Their staff’s kindness and attention to detail was above and beyond. At my follow up appointment he took his time and listened to my questions and concerns answering everything and easing my mind about the things I can and cannot do post surgery. If you are reading this and considering a cosmetic procedure, Dr. Kelamis is the man for the job! Don’t wait to get a consult with him!! You will thank yourself later for it!

Dr Kelamis and his team are amazing. Dr Kelamis spends a lot of time with you at your first consultation answering all of your questions and I never felt rushed. You can tell he is very meticulous and wants to give you the best result possible. I have had multiple surgeries and this one far exceeded my expectations. The surgery center was amazing. The nurses were so kind and the anesthesiologist Lance was my favorite. I usually have an awful time after surgery getting very sick and he really listened to me and tried to come up with a plan to avoid that and he did! This is the first time I did not wake up in recovery sick or even nauseous. It was amazing! Dr Kelamis did an amazing job and I am over joyed at my results. I am so thankful. I can not recommend him and his clinic enough!

The work on my lips was great. But when coming in for a follow up, to get any touches done you would have to buy another whole syrenge. This is the first I’ve heard of this anywhere else that I have been too doesn’t do that. I was also told that if I bought some other kind of treatment that I would be able to get a couple of units for touch ups. That doesn’t make any sense at all. If you can’t do a touch up but then have to buy something to get a touch up. Makes me not want to return for more services. I love my lips but a touch up option would be nice for customers. For example if someone would have needed some more fillers in one spot of their lips they couldn’t get that without purchasing a whole new syrenge. Very concerning because the whole idea is to leave a customer happy and if they can’t get a few touches to make their lips better from getting fillers it defeats the purpose of even going there to begin with. I know I could have used a little touch up but then again couldn’t because I would have to buy a whole new syrenge.

It is almost a year after my breast reduction and while I've been putting off leaving a review, I felt I should share my experience so others can use their best judgement.Pros:- Victoria is amazing, always patient and helpful!- They were good about medications after the procedure. The original pain meds made me sick, so they gave me another option and called to check in.- Incredibly nice office staff BEFORE and immediately after the procedure. (it is a completely different experience for your follow-up appointments unfortunately)Cons:- This is embarrassing to post online, but was one of the biggest worries about the surgery (nip placement). Due to the FNG, they were placed way too high - they show over any bra or swimsuit. It is not only embarrassing but also a struggle to feel the need to wear a pasty plus a bra for any work meetings and it really is a major confidence buster. I have found one extremely full coverage bra that would cover them, but again, my goal with having surgery was to be able to buy "normal" bras or swimsuits after not being able to my entire life.- I was extremely dehydrated after the procedure. Apparently no one even checked my IV - which had been turned down before the procedure. It is very worrisome that something so basic was missed, without knowing what else was skipped? This dehydration - which was confirmed by the post-op team, led to a lot of nausea and vomiting after I woke up.- At my consult he assured me it would be no problem at all to take me down to a C. We settled on a medium to full D, but I told him if things changed I would be okay with a DD if we had to. Unfortunately I am measuring a full DDD - which is much larger than I wanted and I will now have to have this procedure done again. When I asked about this, they would not give any reasoning for it. I had done a bit of research and knew that things change once they “get in there”, but some acknowledgement would have been much appreciated and shown they care about their patients instead of being just a number to them.- When asking about a painful lump on one breast at both of my follow up appointments, it was dismissed. He started explaining that it is something to do with the way they sew in implants. When I corrected him that I didn’t have implants, he just got embarrassed and still wouldn’t explain the issue - didn’t feel it or anything to see what might be going on in order to explain it to me or apologize for not even checking my file for my appointment.- For my 2nd follow-up appointment, I arrived, checked in, and sat in the waiting room for about 10 minutes before they came out and told me that Dr Kelamis isn’t in that day and I would need to reschedule. No apology for my time or acknowledgement that they checked me in knowing he wasn’t even in the office.Overall, yes my breasts are smaller. However, I wish there had been more honest reviews so that I could have made a more informed decision when choosing my surgeon. Dr Kelamis and his team were exceptional before the procedure and for my first follow-up appointment.

I have had a positive and encouraging experience with Dr. Kelamis from day one! He became a part of my surgical and support team when I tested positive with BRCA2. Dr. Kelamis, his administrative staff, nurses, assistants…everyone has been kind and patient at every visit and/or phone call. I had a preventative double mastectomy and Dr. Kelamis has answered every question and concern about the reconstruction process. I feel confident and encouraged about my reconstruction options and choices. He is extremely patient, well spoken, calm, and communicates understandably. I can't speak highly enough of Dr. Kelamis! As a medical professional, it was important for me to find a surgeon who was personable and has had great outcomes. After losing a significant amount of weight I needed to take the next step in my journey and that was to remove excess skin and complete my transformation. From the first appointment, Dr. Kelamis took the time to make sure everything was explained and all questions were answered, even if that meant going over my scheduled appointment time. His personality is unlike other plastic surgeons I had consulted with. He was kind and compassionate and wanted nothing but to understand and meet my expectations on what I wanted my outcome to look like. He follows up-to-date medical guidelines and has been available post-op if needed. I had an abdomioplasty, mastopexy, and thigh liposuction. Post-op recovery has been so much better and easier than I expected. I am only just over a week post surgery but am already shocked and amazed at my results and that is all thanks to Dr. Kelamis! I 100% would recommend him time and time again!

My experience under the care of Dr. KELAMIS and his team has been wonderful. I would even go as far as to say that he is the very best in Northwest Arkansas. Every time I go I know I am getting top notch care and they never dismiss and of my concerns and are always quick to address any of my needs. They are very flexible to work with much schedule for appointments as well. Overall I couldn’t ask for better care. I’m incredibly glad I chose them. I couldn’t dream of having a better Doctor or team to take care of my needs. I’m forever grateful!

I consulted with Dr. Kelamis due to breast implant illness. From the very first contact, where I scheduled a new patient appointment with his office, I’ve been blown away by the care I received. At my initial consultation, Dr. Kelamis and his amazing nurse, Taylor, patiently sat in the exam room with me and allowed me the time to cry and tell them my story. I was shown sincere compassion, understanding, and concern over my well-being. I left feeling validated, and at peace with knowing beyond a shadow of any doubt I was in good hands. I cannot even express the relief I felt in knowing I had finally found a plastic surgeon that took the time to understand and could help me.I’ve had several surgeries in the past and, at least in my experience, it is common for the surgeon to be rushed and abrupt when he checks in with the patient right before surgery. But Dr. Kelamis stayed true to his demeanor from my initial visit with him and once again patiently gave me time to talk to him. He preformed an en bloc total capsulectomy on me in August of this year. I can tell by the way my breasts look and feel that Dr. Kelamis is very skilled in this field and that he meticulously did everything he could to not only correctly and completely remove the capsules and implants, but also to leave me with the best look possible, given the circumstances. From what I’ve seen, this level of expertise is rare and absolutely invaluable.At my post-op visit, Dr. Kelamis was once again gentle, kind and patient. I feel privileged that he is my doctor and I am forever grateful to have found him.
